Greetings from the Capitol!
We were able to sneak in a short trip up to our nations capitol for the fourth of July. We had a great time. It was quite the "trip," not a vacation. With our little Jude, it took him a few days to get used to being out and about all day, and not getting to bed until 11 or 12. We had a whiny baby who was not content in the stroller or the carrier, but only in our arms. And now that he is 20 pounds, he is not easy to carry around. But after a day getting used to this new routine, he was such a trooper, and went with the flow, getting dragged all over the city. John and I were able to visit lots of the major sites in the capitol, and visit a few museums. We enjoyed a firework show along with millions of others.
Enjoy our trip documented with pictures.

Jude and Daddy at the Washington Monument. This is the only day we used the carrier, he did not like it too much, so we never brought it out again.

Mommy and Jude checking out the reflection pool in between the Washington monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

Jude loves to stand up. Here he is at the Korean War memorial checking himself out.

Jude had his first ride on the carousel with Daddy.

A shot of the fireworks above the Washington Monument. The show was amazing, fireworks constantly going off. Jude loved them. The show was shorter than we expected, only 15 minutes. But we should be grateful that our nation is not spending millions of dollars on fireworks. The wait after the show was crazy long, trying to get on the metro was not fun. Jude was not excited about it either.

Here we are on the fourth of July in front of the capitol.
(Jude is wearing a animal onesie because he leaked out of his clothes.)

Here we are enjoying some time at the Air and Space Smithsonian Museum, it was amazing.

Jude showing us his tongue. He loves to stick out his tongue. Here we are watching the Independence Day Parade.

Happy Fourth of July.

Drooling Baby at the Lincoln Memorial.

Jude loved spending so much time with Daddy. One of John's favorite things to do is to kiss Jude. Those cheeks are just so tempting.

Here is Daddy's little firecracker walking around.

Having fun at the World War II memorial. Jude loves to ride on our shoulders, he will laugh and smile the whole time.

The White House by night.
We had such a great trip. Now that we are home, we will unpack, do laundry and re pack for our next trip. We leave Friday.
